Our Mission:
We are creating communities for our veterans and their families, especially traumatically injured returning veterans in a supportive environment so they can buy their own affordable, green, well-built homes. We are investing and building manufacturing and other businesses that these communities will eventually own and that will provide well-paying jobs and benefits. We are providing social services for the entire family so our families can reintegrate after difficult separations, and our children will have their families together in good homes that their families deserve after their sacrifices for our country.
And finally, we are coordinating medical research in underserved areas.
We are now ready to tell of our missions by utilizing the print and broadcast media and through creation of television shows, films, documentaries, acquiring scripts, music and producing a concert series. These programs will entertain you and make you aware of the issues related to returning from war, and more importantly, the successes or our returning veterans and their families.
The twin duties of a military leader are accomplishing your mission and taking care of your troops. We have adopted this creed as well, so we are leading our economic recovery with our veterans who are accustomed to serving our country by implementing our published VITAL Initiative.
Our first community has already gone into contract in scenic Walton, NY, for 90 acres on a hill with a beautiful vista. We are investing in multiple manufacturing plants to to expand and create more jobs. We are in contract to purchase commercial buildings as well.
We have submitted our application with the US Treasury who has offered assistance in helping us become certified as a Community Development Financial Institution. Our ability to get funds directly from Treasury without having to rely on commercial banks to fund our developments is a huge benefit to us.
We are working with private capital funds to develop funding. We are targeting $ 50,000,000.00 in 2010 to invest in businesses for our communities. But we need your support to help the hundreds of thousands of families who need our assistance. Do you know that the VA estimates there are 75 million veterans and direct family members?
Now that we have your attention---
Essential elements of the Vets-Help Mission include providing for the well-being of our target population. These include family safety programs, adaptive sports and skills programs, and cooperation with other Abilities community members to efficiently implement and effect the well-being of our joint communities.
May was a busy month for Vets-Help:
